The Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center will hold a service of remembrance on Friday, Jan. 13 for Dr. Martin Luther King and Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel.
On Friday, Dec. 11, the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center will hold its community Hanukkah party and celebration featuring the Bart Weisman Klezmer Swing Group.
On May 31, the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center hosted a fundraiser for the earthquake victims in Nepal. It was a wonderful success, selling out two days before the event. We raised almost $3,000 that will be donated to the American Jewish World Service, who have partners on the ground in Nepal, helping the most disenfranchised of the Nepalese community.
I would like to thank Rabbi Caryn Broitman, the Hebrew Center and all the volunteers for hosting this event and underwriting it, so that every dollar we raised can go directly to the people who are in need.
This Sunday, the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center and other community members will host a fundraiser for victims of the earthquake in Nepal.
