Tisbury will have four contested races at the annual town election later this spring, including for the open select board seat.

Connie Alexander and Greg Martino are running for the three-year term on the select board that has been left open for months after the resignation of Christina Colarusso.

Ms. Alexander is a retired science teacher, a former member of the town’s planning board and a member of the Tisbury Waterways, Inc, board.

Mr. Martino runs Cottage City Oysters with his brother Dan, and previously served as the Tisbury representative on the Martha’s Vineyard Commission.

Nomination papers were due back on March 24 for the May 12 election. In other contested races, longtime town clerk Hillary Conklin is facing a challenger in Joanna Jernegan, Betsy Carnie and Emma Kaitlin Kristal are running for the board of health seat, and Bruce Campbell and Richard Homans are running for a seat on the finance and advisory committee.

There are several non-contested seats.

John Schilling is running for moderator, Kenneth Barwick for constable, James Bartholomew Norton for board of assessors, Jennifer Cutrer for school committee, David Schwab and Patrick Rolston for two water commissioner positions, Bernadette Budinger-Cormie for planning board, Norah Van Riper, Robert Gilpin and Jean Lewellyn for three library trustee seats, Thomas Goulet for the finance committee and Nancy Weaver for the Land Bank.
