Vineyard Swimmer Breaks School Record

Senior captain Kaua De Assis broke a school record in the 50-yard freestyle on Dec. 19 in a home meet against Barnstable with a time of 23.16.

The Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School will host an open house and student showcase on Thursday, Jan. 9.

Hospital Executives Receive Outreach Award

Denise Schepici, president of Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, and Claire Seguin, chief nurse and vice president of operations, received the Healthcare Community Outreach Partner Award.

Steamship Postpones Vineyard Haven Dock Work

Steamship Authority general manager Robert Davis announced the schedule change at the port council meeting Tuesday, saying the state had determined the construction needed to go through the town committee.
