We are riding the usual roller coaster of spring weather here in the northeast. As we approach April it seems things are settling down a bit. There is plenty to do now on the Island so turn your collar up to the wind and get out there.
Paul Doherty’s fabulous photos are on exhibit through April 18 at the Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse. The playhouse is bringing back the Wicked Good Musical Revue for your enjoyment on April 11, 12 and 13. Our usual cast of entertainers will perform.
Marston Clough’s wonderful paintings are still up at the Tisbury Council on Aging through the end of March.
Daniel Waters continuing show of Islander portraits is at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum. Dan does them in black and white yet the subject comes through in true colors. The featured portrait right now is musician and artist Nancy Jephcote.
In the written word, multi-talented Dr. Gerry Yukevitch has a new book coming out this summer under his pen name, Ivan Cox. It is called Oodles of Rubles. It is illustrated by Max Steven. No rest for Gerry.
Our seventh grade boys traveling basketball team took the state championship in their division. The sirens greeting them on their return sounded like the world was ending! Congratulations, team.
In Florida, Kylie Lovell, daughter of Ashley McCarthy, traveled with her cheer team to a competition where here team came in third place and won the sportmanship award.
Graham Nash will perform at the Tabernacle this summer. Be still my heart! I have loved him since the Hollies.
There have been many very sad passings of Islanders: Patsy Fullin, Ted Desrosiers and Dear John Athearn of West Tisbury.
