It was the Chilmark pound, not pond, that the late Peter Darling always kept in order. The pound is along the roadside in Quitsa. It is a stone enclosure with a rail fence entrance.

The Trustees of Reservations, in an effort to cultivate more public interest in Mytoi Garden, have concluded that perhaps all that is needed is a name change.

Oak Bluffs Town Column: April 4

Articles on Tuesday’s warrant include construction of a new town hall and public safety building. Town hall is apparently too broken to fix and the trailer adjacent to the fire station proves it has surpassed capacity.

From Pondside to Curbside, West Tisbury Police Embrace New Home

The West Tisbury police station has a new address. After two years of planning, the police have moved from their tiny cramped building on the Mill Pond into new headquarters in North Tisbury.

National Park Service Pays a Visit to Gay Head Light

With erosion eating away at the Gay Head Cliffs, a historian for the National Park Service recognized the urgency in transferring ownership to the town. The lighthouse will be moved sometime in the next year.
