The report deals perceptively and constructively with the visual criteria which, along with those of water supply, ecology and others, should guide the development — the selective development always — of Martha’s Vineyard.

Pew Moving Company

We live in an amazing place for reasons far too numerous to cite; few would dispute this. I’m writing to pass on two Good Samaritan stories that illustrate the unconditional generosity of this Island.

I was part of a crew that was helping with the renovation of the First Congregational Church of West Tisbury. Our task was to remove the pews from the church and move them next door to the Grange Hall. It would have been semi-easy for the six of us volunteer “pewgilists” but we didn’t quite have the right transportation.

Windows to Church-State Debate

The town of Oak Bluffs, with the advice of the Oak Bluffs Community Preservation Committee, has appropriated, for the third time, public monies to repair the stained glass windows of the Trinity Methodist Church.

Keystone Not the Problem

President Obama is waffling on the Keystone pipeline issue and should make his mind up soon. We need the oil and the jobs. Let’s get going, Mr. President.
