2023

Galaxy Gallery in Oak Bluffs, home of the nonprofit Martha’s Vineyard Center for the Visual Arts, celebrates the Island’s art teachers this month with a show by more than a dozen current and retired arts educators.

Administered by Martha’s Vineyard Community Services and funded by MVYouth, a new initiative is underway to increase the number of licensed home childcare programs on the Island.

2020

A college student living on Chappaquiddick has co-founded a remote mentorship and activity program for schoolchildren. Payment is optional.

MVYouth has awarded $760,000 in college and workforce development scholarships to 13 high school seniors and young adults.

2019

As the census continues to grow, the Boys and Girls Club facility off Robinson Road in Edgartown is no longer adequate to serve the needs.

2018

There are now 327 students in English language learning (ELL) programs in the Island public schools.
