The Vineyard’s first cannabis dispensary quietly began doing business over the weekend. Open since Friday at 510 State Road in West Tisbury, Fine Fettle Dispensary is presently serving medical marijuana patients by appointment.

Consumers over the age of 21 can now legally purchase and use marijuana grown on the Vineyard, following the start Monday morning of adult-use sales at Fine Fettle Dispensary in West Tisbury.

Fine Fettle, the Vineyard's only legally-permitted cannabis producer, has stopped growing marijuana on the Island and will close its West Tisbury dispensary later this year.

The Oak Bluffs planning board is weighing its recommendation on a recently filed citizen petition that would allow marijuana stores downtown. 

Geoff Rose, the owner of Island Time dispensary in Vineyard Haven, submitted a citizen petition to the Oak Bluffs select board Oct. 10 requesting amendments to bylaws that regulate the location and operations of marijuana businesses.

Cannabis entrepreneur Noah Eisendrath has cleared the final regulatory hurdle on his way to establishing the first marijuana-growing operation in Vineyard Haven, after the Tisbury planning board finalized his special permit Dec. 7.

What might appear to be big changes proposed for the Vineyard's only licensed cannabis grower are actually changes to procedure, not production.
