The Trinity Episcopal Church bell returned Tuesday after a five-year hiatus. It first rang in 1889.

For the first summer in more than 125 years, Trinity Episcopal Church in Oak Bluffs will not hold worship services.

2014

The Rev. Karen Coleman will be the preacher and celebrant at the opening service at Trinity Episcopal Church on Sunday, June 22.

Currently the priest in charge at St. James Church in Somerville, Dr. Coleman is the first African American female to be installed as a rector in the diocese of Massachusetts.

2013

The Road from Charity to Justice is the topic of the sermon offered by guest preacher the Rev. Cannon Edward Rodman on August 25 and Sept. 1 at the 9 a.m. service at Trinity Episcopal Church.

The old pipe organ at Trinity Episcopal Church was restored over the winter and will be the centerpiece of a concert this Sunday at the historic Oak Bluffs chapel.

The concert begins at 4 p.m.

“Music has always been important at Trinity,” said organist Wesley Brown, who has been playing at the church for 20 years.

The Rev. Richard L. Fenn will be the preacher and celebrant at Trinity Episcopal Church this Sunday, July 21 at the 9 a.m. service. Before his retirement Mr. Fenn served as rector at St. Luke’s Church in Jamestown, N.Y. for 22 years. He also served churches in Pittsfield and Wilbraham. When he was in Western New York, he represented the diocese in Africa and Central America. Mr. Fenn and his wife Marcia are members of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Edgartown.
