Well ahead of schedule, highway work on Beach Road in Vineyard Haven is expected to finish in the fall of 2022.

Beach Road in Tisbury will be down to one lane from Monday through Thursday as the state Department of Transportation conducts milling and paving operations on the road.

A massive project to redevelop the Tisbury Marine Terminal on Beach Road flew through its public hearing process at the Martha’s Vineyard Commission Thursday, seeing no opposition.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is back at work on Beach Road.

An illegal sewer connection at a Beach Road property overwhelmed a nearby town-owned pump station during last Thursday’s intense rainfall, causing hundreds of gallons of sewage to be discharged into the Vineyard Haven harbor.

The state highway department has provided Tisbury with a new set of plans for the Beach Road project, which is set to resume in September.
