The Oak Bluffs select board approved $200,000 for the Southern Tier project and $75,000 for a veterans housing proposal Tuesday. Both saw rising costs associated with the pre-construction phase.

Select board chair Gail Barmakian invited Robert Davis to the board’s Tuesday meeting after Oak Bluffs wasn’t notified about the potential of 41 North Offshore using the Steamship’s Oak Bluffs terminal to ship freight and heavy equipment to and from New Bedford.

Kris Chvatal, Bill Cleary, Emma Green-Beach and K. Mark Leonard are running for the two three-year terms. The seats have been held by Ms. Green-Beach, the current board chair, and Jason Balboni, who decided to not run for reelection.
