The playoffs are right around the corner for the Vineyard’s spring sports squads as the regular season wraps up this week with a final bout against Nantucket on tap for multiple teams on Saturday.

The warm weather is getting greater as the month goes on.

Obviously, this community has made a great mistake. No one invited me to the prom last weekend. So I am in need of prom photos. Don’t make this error next year!

The last few chilly days is just early spring hanging in there before the hot, humid summer is upon us. On Tuesday, I spent some time regretting I had put the long underwear away.

And so the summer begins. Between the recent cool temperatures and a week still left in the month of May, the season’s unofficial arrival has come on little cat feet. Are we ready? Are we ever?

Evidence of nesting is easy to see. A bird carrying either vegetation or food means that they are building a nest or feeding young. And observing a recently hatched bird confirms that a nest was successful.

It wasn’t the first and won’t be the last time an alligator is found in Massachusetts.
