The warm weather is getting greater as the month goes on. We are still dealing with some wind, and I don’t dare say that we are missing all the rain that was headed our way, but we do need some rain to help all the plants and trees.
Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Bianca Nunes, Alondra Hernandez and Thea Brown who all celebrated their day May 17; Summer Cimeno, May 18; Jamison Knapp, Kayden Henry-Boyd, May 19; and to Salomao Marcal who celebrated his day May 20.
Special balloons and birthday wishes goes out to Joanne Connolly, who celebrated her 95th birthday on May 23. Joanne is still very active in her gardens which I am sure are beautiful. She shops for her specific flowers and loads her own car in her special way. Happy Birthday Joann and here is too many more.
It is Memorial Day weekend, the start of summer, friends from away will be here to open their houses, college kids are arriving home for the summer, town is opening stores up and people are busy planning cookouts, maybe a beach run, and hosting company.
I hope in all this hustle and bustle, everyone will take time and remember why we can all do this. There are many men and women who gave up their time and sacrificed a lot to give us this freedom. As people got busier, the parades got smaller, but the meaning is still there. The schools still march to the sea to throw flowers in the ocean in memory of those who gave their lives.
So, this week I would like to dedicate this column to those who served to help us keep our freedom and be able to live the lives we live. Remember, they gave up their tomorrow so we could have our todays.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
