Hotdog Days of Summer

Hotdog Days of Summer

Libraries usually wear a cloak of quiet contemplation. Perhaps there’s some rambunctiousness at story hour toddlers are not known for their decorum but in general they are studious places meant for finding and reading that particular book.

But this Monday, Sept. 6, the Edgartown Library is putting away the shusher and road tripping it out to Katama Airport for a rocking evening of hotdogs, music, climbing walls and airplane acrobatics.

Nectar’s to Host Wintertide Coffeehouse Reunion Show

On Sept. 12 Nectar’s will host a Wintertide Coffeehouse Reunion Concert featuring popular New York singer-songwriter Dayna Kurtz and Island artists Jemima James, Dan Waters, Kim Hilliard and Kevin Keady.

Moonless Weekend

There is a peek of autumn this week, if you go outside after 10 p.m. Without the moon showing its brilliant personality, the stars will be bright and vivid.

David Dibble is a hard guy to catch up with. In fact, to do this interview, I had to hitch a ride in his taxi. It was well worth the trip.

As we traveled Oak Bluffs looking for potential customers, David talked to me about India. He has lived there for the past five years.

“What got you interested?” I asked as we left the Island Queen parking lot.
