On Wednesday it poured but the weather was so warm that I don’t think the heat came on at all. The weatherman said this weekend would start to be “seasonally.” I don’t know what “seasonally” is, but I have a feeling the picnic is over. It sure was great while it lasted.

The weather is one topic we all seem to agree is worthy of discussion, especially these days when it feels as if we’re closer to August than Christmas. Generally people follow an observation about the incredibly mild day with some version of the statement, “We’re going to pay for this later.”

May I be sentenced to the last spot in standby on a 10 degree weekend for misinforming you of the name of the author of Area 51, that great nonfiction I read last week. Her name is Annie Jacobsen. Time for new reading glasses.
Congratulations to Vanessa, daughter of Woody and Phyllis Williams. Her hard work and good grades earned her a semester in London, starting in January. Vanessa is at Pace University Law School in White Plains.
