Correction

Correction

A story about Bill Wilcox in the Tuesday Gazette misstated the length of a tape measure used by Mr. Wilcox at a well in the state forest. The well is 500 feet deep; the tape measure is not that long.

The Gazette regrets the error.

You can’t go home again, they say. And you can’t go to Wasque again. At least not the way you left it, or may remember it. The Wasque now is no longer the home we recall. This Wasque will be our children’s and grandchildren’s Wasque, but it no longer belongs to our memory. All the markers have been erased by time and tide. I suppose this is neither good nor bad, happy or sad. But simply what is.

Yay, Bruins! We sweated that one out. I happen to know that a very creative neighbor of mine, Joe Cormier, handmade a replica of the Stanley Cup and has had it in his front window in preparation for the championship. So we actually have the Stanley Cup on Island now.
