The Island’s championship summer collegiate baseball team is mired in a court dispute with its parent Futures Collegiate Baseball League over plans to switch to another league.

They crushed pizzas just as often as they crushed baseballs. For the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks, this was a summer they won’t soon forget.

After a rain-soaked single inning Monday night, the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks and the Worcester Bravehearts are 2018 Futures League co-champions.

With their season on the line Sunday, the Sharks beat the Worcester Bravehearts 4-2 to force a game three in the world series.
