Martha’s Vineyard Hospital will not renew the lease for the Red House when it ends next spring, leaving the Island’s only peer recovery center searching for a new home.

The Red House Peer Recovery Support Center will hold a special fundraising film screening at the Martha's Vineyard Film Center on Sunday, Feb. 4.

With six confirmed deaths from opioids in 2022, Martha’s Vineyard has not been spared from a crisis that is raging across the state.

The pandemic infiltrated and upended all aspects of life but for those in recovery, the isolation and excessive down time was especially difficult.

The Red House peer recovery center recently reopened after its launch early last year was cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic.
