
Earlier this year Emily deBettencourt was named Oak Bluffs harbormaster, taking over for Todd Alexender who retired. Ms. deBettencourt started working on the harbor in high school.
The Oak Bluffs harbor is upping its mooring fee to $50 per day for the summer season.

Oak Bluffs harbor master Todd Alexander will retire after 29 years on the job, it was announced at the town select board meeting Tuesday. The retirement is effective July 1; Mr. Alexander will work part time this summer.
Summer reservations in Oak Bluffs and Edgartown harbors have exploded to record levels. Online reservations opened Feb. 1 in Oak Bluffs and March 1 in Edgartown.
Exercise classes in public parks will have to be free but daytime mooring slips may not be in the future, the Oak Bluffs select board decided at their weekly meeting held Tuesday.
