The future of Tisbury’s historic public elementary school will be in the hands of town voters this weekend when they convene a special town meeting to take up a $55 million overhaul of the crumbling old brick school.

2014

Tisbury School students completed a project that wove together historical women with theatre. The eighth and sixth graders reenacted the lives of women in history.

The Tisbury School has announced its honor roll for the second quarter of the 2013-2014 academic year.

2013

Harvest Festival
The Tisbury School invites the community to its annual Harvest Festival on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 3 to 5 p.m. The festival includes a potluck supper, hayrides, pumpkin decorating and more. All games and activities are free but bring a dish to pass for the supper.

The Tisbury School has announced its honor roll for the fourth quarter of the 2012-2013 academic year.

Eight grade honors: Alexandra Barlett, Robson Borges, Monica Carroll, David Caseau, Justine Cassel, Nicholas Chapman, Emma Kristal, Colbeck Leuenberger, Benjamin Nadelstein, Patricia Oliveira, Barbara Paula and Ava Petricone.

Eighth grade high honors: Elias Fhagen-Smith and Ashley Wood.

Seventh grade high honors: Margaret Burke, Carolyn Duarte, Evelyn Medeiros, Lily Pigott, Benjamin Tillman, Elizabeth Williamson and Salyn Yancey.

More classroom space is just one of the primary needs.

Architects presented five design options for renovation and expansion of the Tisbury School this week, ranging from $43 million to $45 million.

Tisbury School Awards

The Tisbury School held its Recognition Day for the fifth to eighth grades on Wednesday, June 13. During the ceremony, all students were recognized for their individual contributions towards a positive school environment.

The following special awards were also given:

Jeffrey T. Goodale Memorial Award to James Douglas Norton - grade 5.

Dorothy Larkosh Roberts Award to Salyn Yancey - grade 6.

Rose Anthony Award for Achievement in Literary Arts to Alexandra Barlett and Ashley Wood - grade 7.
