Chilmark warmed up a bit today as the temperatures climbed into the comfortable numbers we look forward to in May.

Chilmark is in free fall already. The large number of weekend visitors that were in Menemsha last weekend was the clue. The weather was much more spring than summer but it didn’t seem to matter.

Chilmark has literally been in a fog all week, with some heavy showers along the way. All our open spaces are very green now, with turkeys on display in most fields and deer everywhere even during daylight hours.

Chilmark’s annual spring town meeting drew a crowd on Monday last with approximately 250 voters turning out for a long night of discussion and voting on town government.

Chilmark looked good to me last week when Dianne Smith and I returned from a mind-blowing trip to Budapest and back.

Last year when John Kosboski sold his house, packed his belongings and hopped a jet plane bound for Hawaii, I never thought it would be the last time I saw him.
