Tisbury voters finally said yes to a new school at their annual town election Tuesday, approving a $55 million renovation plan by a landslide and capping years of debate and anguish.

2024

Select board chair Roy Cutrer beat write-in candidate Mary Bernadette Budinger-Cormie in a vote of 274-139 at Tisbury's annual town election Tuesday.

Candidates for office in Tisbury have filed their nomination papers for the town election in June, with contested races for school committee and constable.

Tisbury’s newest select board member is Christina Colarusso, the winner — by just three votes — of Tuesday’s three-way race for select board.

The fate of the regional high school budget and an open seat on the Tisbury select board will be decided today as voters in Aquinnah head to their annual town meeting and Tisbury holds its annual town election.

Voting takes place from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 9, at the town’s emergency services facility on Spring street.

Incumbent Abbe Burt is being challenged for the second time this year by Christina Colarusso, with first-time candidate MacAleer Schilcher making it a three-way race.
