Tisbury officials have halted construction at a large property overlooking Lake Tashmoo after discovering that work on a revetment did not comply with proper permitting procedure.

2020

The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank announced Monday that it has added to its beachfront holdings in Vineyard Haven with the purchase of a small property on the Tashmoo peninsula.
Island environmental group Tisbury Waterways, Inc. holds its annual public meeting on Zoom August 27.
Tisbury selectmen have continued until early April a hearing on Noah Mayrand’s application to farm oysters in a one-acre portion of Lake Tashmoo. It marks the first aquaculture permit application in town.

2018

The Martha’s Vineyard Land Bank bank added 400 feet of white sand beachfront to its holdings in Vineyard Haven Friday with the purchase of a five-acre parcel near the mouth of Lake Tashmoo.

Tisbury has hired the Edgartown dredge crew for an emergency job in the Tashmoo channel. Using finely-tuned teamwork, the crew makes the sand flow.
