At a change of command ceremony Friday morning, U.S. Coast Guard Station Menemsha said goodbye to departing senior chief Jason Olsen and welcomed his replacement, senior chief Robert Riemer.
Senior Chief Riemer has been with the Coast Guard for 23 years and was previously officer in charge of Coast Guard station Elizabeth City.

Station Menemsha is responsible for maritime search and rescue, federal maritime law enforcement, fisheries and living marine resource law enforcement and support of all other Coast Guard missions over the waters extending 50 nautical miles south of Martha's Vineyard, to the Rhode Island state border, and extending to New Bedford. Station Menemsha is staffed with 24 rescue and law enforcement personnel, and conducts an average of 150 boardings and 50 search and rescue cases a year.
