The Vineyard Angels in their dugout during the first-ever night baseball game at the Vineyard Ball Park. Ivy Ashe

The switch was flipped Friday evening for the first night game at the Vineyard Baseball Park, as two Gateway Babe Ruth teams took to the field for a playoff game. The Vineyard Brewers defeated the Vineyard Angels 10-0 in the second game of a best-of-three series. Two days later, the Martha's Vineyard Sharks played under the lights for the first time, facing off against the Nashua Silver Knights in a pitchers' duel. In the top of the ninth, Nashua scored the first runs of the evening, taking a 2-0 lead and prompting Sharks players and fans alike to don rally caps as "Don't Stop Believin'" played on the loudspeaker. The charms worked, with Sharks batting leader Dylan Tice launching a 3-run walk-off homer to end the game and give the team its 6th victory of the season.

All in a night's work.
