The six Island towns offer a variety of lodging options, from a campsite and a youth hostel to secluded B & B’s and luxury inns. When selecting a hotel, guests should be mindful of the location they have selected. Oak Bluffs offers bustling nightlife and public beaches, while Edgartown offers upscale shopping and restaurants. Vineyard Haven is a prime destination for art galleries and small shops. Guests looking for peace and quiet should head to the up-Island towns of West Tisbury, Chilmark and Aquinnah, where the rolling hills and beaches are spectacular but there are fewer shops and restaurants. A car is recommended for navigating up-Island.
