The four churches of the United Methodist Cooperative Ministry will hold a joint service at the Edgartown United Methodist Church, the Old Whaling Church, on Main street in Edgartown on Sunday, Sept. 30 at 11 a.m.

All the Vineyard Methodist congregations will combine to celebrate Christian education and the creative arts in worship. People will share their creative gifts of the Spirit in music through song, piano, the church pipe organ, liturgical movement, presentation of banners, scripture, prayers, and other elements written just for this event. The Rev. Dr. Brian Wren will preach. The Christian educators will be consecrated.

The children’s lesson will include a presentation about Live B.I.G., a new multi-media church school program that begins Sunday, Oct. 7 at all four Cooperative Parish churches.

Following the service at 12:30 p.m., participants are invited to a Make Your Own Sundae Party.

The four churches in the cooperative ministry are the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown, Christ Church in Vineyard Haven, Trinity Church in Oak Bluffs and Chilmark Community Church.
