Martha’s Vineyard Glassworks, a hand-blown glassworks gallery and studio, will donate five per cent of December sales to the Safe Haven Project, an Island-based nonprofit learning organization that provides educational opportunities for the greater community of young people living with, or affected by, HIV/AIDS.

Libby Johnson, gallery manager and a member of the Safe Haven Committee, said Safe Haven is raising money to fund the organization’s spring camping season.

“Our main goal on the Safe Haven Committee is to make every effort to gather our needed funds from within the Martha’s Vineyard community,” said Ms. Johnson, a long-time Safe Haven camp volunteer. “Mark Weiner (co-founder of Martha’s Vineyard Glassworks) has always been dedicated to giving back to our community.”

Founded by Andrew Magdanz, his wife Susan Shapiro, and Mark Weiner, Martha’s Vineyard Glassworks has been a home for artists and a destination for patrons since 1992. With an open studio, customers are invited to watch a work of art come to life.
