After that Thanksgiving dinner settles, get outdoors and relax with family and friends at Felix Neck’s Fall Festival, set for Friday, Nov. 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the wildlife sanctuary on the Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road.

This year, Felix Neck goes back to its roots as a farmstead; for three generations, the Smith Family lived at Felix Neck on their family farm. Visitors can go back through that farm history, with farm animals, hay rides, face painting, a scarecrow dress-up station and contest, nature crafts, games and a yarn-spinning demonstration around the nature center. Ballyhoo will bring the bluegrass music, and Felix Neck guides will provide walks and other programs throughout the day. Soups, hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, Ploughman’s Lunch, baked goods and other foods will be available for purchase.

Organizers suggest a donation of $2 per person for Mass Audubon members and $4 per person for nonmembers, to support the sanctuary. The rain date is Saturday, Nov. 24.
