Actors to play the voices of Zeb Tilton, the historian Henry Kittredge, and the writer and Mystic Seaport curator John Leavitt are being sought for the film Zeb — Schooner Life. Open auditions will be held at the Vineyard Playhouse on Tuesday, Dec. 18 from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Zeb — Schooner Life will be a documentary about Zeb Tilton (1866-1952), a legendary sea captain from Martha’s Vineyard and his iconic schooner the Alice Wentworth. Scheduled for a spring 2008 opening, the film is being produced by Detrick Lawrence Productions, a motion picture company from Edgartown, creator of more than 150 films, including Gloucester’s Adventure, a documentary on the history of the fishing schooner Adventure, which was broadcast on WGBH.
