It’s on! The writers’ strike is over, and glittering preparations are under way for Hollywood’s annual Academy Awards presentation — as well as for the Island’s very Vineyard version of the Vanity Fair party, the third annual Oscar Night Benefit with the Martha’s Vineyard Film Society.
This year, the party will be at Circuit avenue’s Oyster Bar Grill on Sunday, Feb. 24. The red carpet rolls out at 6:30 p.m. with a limited pre-telecast dinner option (reserve your table for the entire evening). Snacks and the show begin at 8, with the Oscars showing live on a large screen.
The evening includes a guess-the-winner pool with prizes, plus photo ops with Oscar. Party attire is suggested.
Dinner is a three-course menu with a glass of Champagne or wine; it’s $50 per person ($15 goes to the film society, tax deductible), or $45 for society members. There will be additional seating at the bar. For reservations, call 508-693-6600.
For details about the party, call 774-392-2972.
