The Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School boys’ tennis team is offering its services to any business or individual who needs help around their home or place of business in exchange for a financial donation to the team.
In the past the tennis booster club has held an annual round robin tennis tournament and solicited donations from local businesses. It was a lot of work and the club was always contending with weather.
This year the booster club, comprised of team parents, decided to give the boys ownership of the team fundraising.
Club members state the boys are mature, intelligent and able young men who have a lot to offer the community. They are willing to take on any job such as yard work, trips to dump, computer help, tennis lessons, household chores, babysitting, dog-walking, pet-sitting, farm work, help with house openings and just about anything that requires a helping hand or two. The club states that financial donation for services should reflect the work and time involved.
The high school historically provides the team with tennis balls, transportation to matches off Island and courts for practice and matches.
But uniforms, racquets and restringing are paid through the fund-raising efforts of the regional district tennis boosters and team members.
If you would like to assist the team with their fund-raising drive, please call Marsha Shufrin at 508-645-3843 for more information and to arrange a time for team members to help. A financial donation to the team may be sent by mail to Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School District Tennis Boosters, 4 Maple Hill Drive, Aquinnah MA 02535.
