KATHIE CASE

We have survived and missed Hanna, the small storms have passed us over but at least we can say it hasn’t been an uneventful start of September.
Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week.
Big balloons go out to Sam Leighton who celebrated his day Sept. 7. The family had a cookout but Sam enjoyed the cake the most.
My cousins Nancy and David Cooper have always been the ones who are spontaneous. This time it was when they called Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. and said they were on the boat and they wanted to go to the bookstore and then dinner. So we were very excited they were on their way. We went to dinner at the Square Rigger and it was as usual excellent. It was nice, as the dining room was not crowded and we knew a lot of people there. They were then off on the 7:15 boat and we all decided the time was short but the food and company was great.
I had a reader write to me who said that it was amazing, the number of lost keys in the two baskets at the right hand window of the post office. How could so many people lose their keys or not remember that such a popular spot as the post office might be where they went missing?
I can say I went to the bank and then the post office and was talking to a friend and totally forgot my keys. When I realized it, the windows were closed, and they would not open them after I called to them. Thank God a friend was in the parking lot and drove me home to get my other set of keys and take me back. The next day I did notice the number of keys in those baskets, as mine were among them.
The update on Ursula Prada is that she is doing well in rehab. She is sitting in a chair most of the day, she is more alert and they have even had her up and walking. There is still a long way to go, but she is showing the strength that she has. Keep up the good work Ursula so you can get home soon.
Not much news this week. I love the e-mails that come in, so keep them coming.
Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
