Irish harpist and singer Aine Minogue (pronounced Anya) — famous for her celebrations of Celtic culture and sacred seasons, including the transition from summer to fall — will perform a Harvest Eve concert at the Katharine Cornell Theatre on Sunday, Oct. 12.
She will focus on that time between the veils, as the seasons change, exploring the Celtic roots of Halloween as it is derived from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain.
Ãine’s recordings include The Mysts of Time, Between the Worlds, Circle of the Sun, Celtic Meditation Music, Celtic Lamentations (2005 Celtic album of the Year; one of the Boston Globe’s 10 albums of 2006).
Numerous tracks of her music appear on compilations for such labels as BMG, Virgin, Rounder and Putumayo in varying styles including Celtic, world, folk and new age. She has completed extensive soundtrack work for television.
The theatre is at 51 Spring street in Vineyard Haven. Tickets for the two-hour event, which begins at 7:30 p.m., are $15.
