The Cape Light Compact will be hosting a series of public information hearings to discuss a proposed 2009 energy efficiency plan on Monday, Nov. 20 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School Library. There will be a presentation about the plan followed by an informal question and answer session.
The Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities requires the Cape Light Compact to file its calendar year 2009 energy efficiency plan on or before Monday, Dece. 1. The DPU specifically requests the Compact address the need for increased program funding to respond to the immediate winter heating season demands and to prepare for transition to the three-year plans required by Chapter 169 of the Acts of 2008, an act relative to the Green Communities Act.
The Compact is preparing the Proposed 2009 Energy Efficiency Plan, including budget increases to existing programs and the introduction of certain new and innovative programs for residential, business and municipal customers.
A copy of the Compact’s proposal along with other related documents will be available at the hearings and on Nov. 10 at the Compact Web site: www.capelightcompact.org For more information about the hearings or the public comment process, call 1-800-797-6699.
