Conifer Walk

A guided walk called Consider the Conifer takes place on Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Polly Hill Arboretum. Longtime staff members Nancy Weaver and Suzy Zell will give walkers a closer look at the arboretum’s conifer rows.

Practical Polly Hill planted this double row of evergreens to protect plants in the Playpen from damaging north winds, but along the way she discovered their inherent beauty. She planted pine, cypress, cedar, juniper and arborvitae, including distinctive cultivars, dwarf conifers and unusual species from around the world.

The cost is $5 for nonmembers and free for members.
