Skunk Talk
Wildlife biologist Luanne Johnson will share the results of her doctoral research on the behavior and habits of coastal striped skunks on the Vineyard. Her lecture titled Skunks without Borders: the Movements and Behavior or Coastal Skunks on Martha’s Vineyard will be held at the Chilmark Public Library on Thursday, June 25, at 5 p.m.
Ms. Johnson will share her findings about skunks during four years of research including their diet, home ranges, and seasonal habits. In addition, Ms. Johnson will demonstrate how she has used radio-telemetry to study skunk habits, answer your skunk questions, and provide information on how to reduce skunk problems around your home.
Admission is free. All are welcome. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Chilmark Public Library. For details, call 508-645-3360.
