Please Adopt Us

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard has some really nice cats available for adoption.

They are: Arnold, a big orange tiger who loves our little black kitten, Scooter, who is still quite shy; Jack, a handsome big tiger tabby, two years old, who loves to give hugs and is good with children and big people too; Sky, another big part-Siamese tiger with unusual markings and beautiful blue eyes who would do best in a home without children; Sunny, a female tortoiseshell who loves to be petted and would make a great lap cat; Phoebe and Max, cage mates who have lived all their lives outdoors and would be best if kept together; and Cleo, a mostly white cat who really needs a loving home. All cats have been spayed or neutered and treated for fleas, and are up to date on all shots.

Our one dog is Rita, a purebred spayed black chow, seven years old.

The shelter would like to remind everyone who has lost an animal to call their animal control officer, the shelter and the veterinary hospitals to report that the animal is missing; sadly we have found three cats who have been hit by cars and we are sure that their owners are looking for them frantically.

Shelter hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; the telephone number is 508-627-8662. Donations are always welcome.
