Who could argue with the weather we have been having? The leaves are getting ready to change, the ponds are filling, the mums are in full bloom, and we just had a beautiful harvest moon. What a great week.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated this past week. Big balloons go out to Julia Gomes who celebrated her day Oct. 4; Michael Morris, Oct. 6; Kavika Babson, Taylor Blair and Matthew Davies who all celebrated Oct. 7; Oliver Lively, and David Sweiter Jr. Oct. 8; Erin Hill Oct. 9; and Kenon Veno who celebrates today, Oct. 11.

A special balloon goes out to Max Metell, son of Allyson and Chad Metell, who celebrates his first birthday Oct. 10. Max is surrounded by Metell birthdays. His dad and uncle Chad and Chris celebrated their day Oct. 8, Gramma Linda has her day on Oct. 10 and great aunt Pat Litchfield celebrates Oct. 11. It was nice of Max to arrive right in the middle of the pack. Happy birthday to the whole family and I can just imagine the size of the cake.

Special anniversary wishes go out to Donnie and Hilda Mitchell, who celebrated their anniversary on Oct. 8.

His telephone number is the same as it always has been. He would love visitors. Please knock loudly on the front door.

Sonny and Cindy, our cousins, have started their journey back to Louisiana. We had a great time and they got to visit many of their friends and Sonny did a lot of fishing.

Our special day was last Sunday when nephew Danny Gilkes and his crewmate Will Trapp took us out fishing in his boat. Now anyone who knows me knows I do not do boats. I would consider taking the Queen Mary to Nantucket and that’s it. So I dragged my feet, but in the end the day was beautiful. We started out to the Hooter, which I soon learned was really a fishing hole and not some place the guys were going instead of fishing. After some rock and rolling we moved in closer to shore. The tour took us by seal island which is where the sand from the breach has gathered and the seals took it over. They were very cute and very curious about us and some came into the water to check us out. We got close enough to get some great pictures. We then moved on and continued fishing. Cindy caught her first false albacore which came in a close second to the seals. And Sonny caught his share of blues and he also caught an albacore. It was a great day and we all enjoyed each others’ company and we got to see the Island from a boater’s point of view.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
