It was a white Christmas, which we have not had for quite a while, and it was a quiet one. Then the rain hit on Sunday, and now we are back to bare ground in many places — except for the big pile made by machines to clear the streets.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Cicero Batisa Neto, Molly Pogue, Paige Pogue and Spencer Pogue, who all celebrated their day Dec. 26; Emma Herrick, Dec. 27; and Connor Donnelly, who celebrates his day Dec. 31.

Special wishes go out to Josh Kresel, who celebrated his day Dec. 24, and to Alex Avakian, who celebrated Dec. 30.

Our neighbors Jim and Maryellen were happy to have their daughter and grandsons, Susan, Arie and Benjamin, here for Christmas. Dad Jonathan had to stay in Chicago, where he is a lawyer with many things on his plate, so Jonathan Kresel, Sue’s brother, picked them all up at Logan and brought them all home for the holiday. Jon Kresel got called away among the activities; when he arrived home he brought the “bestest” present of all: dad Jonathan Kaden. It was a great surprise for all and the holiday was complete. Jon Kresel’s fiancée, Courtney, was with her parents for this Christmas.

It was a great Christmas for the Chris Look family, as dad Chris “Huck” was home for the holiday after some time in the hospital in Boston.

The regular travelers to the Patriots game were not disappointed on Sunday, when the Pats won the AFC championship, so here we go getting geared up for another run for the Super Bowl.

I wish you all a very happy and healthy new year and the wish that all our men and women will be home for the next holiday season.

Have a great week, and keep the home candles burning.
