Pearl, our little old white lady cat, is back at the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard shelter looking for a new home; her adoptive friend had to give her up, so she had a taste of a new home and is now looking for another one. Other cats available for adoption are: Debbie, a young all-black female; Moonlight, our friendly tabby; Cora, a purebred Persian with a gorgeous coat; Cyrus, a big friendly black fellow; and Miss Misty, who needs a very special person to adopt her because she has tested FIV positive, although she is very healthy and just needs to be an indoor cat for safety sak e. All the shelter animals are spayed or neutered and have had all their shots.

There is one dog: P.J., the Staffordshire terrier who has won the hearts of all the staff. He would so love to be in a home with loving owners.

The shelter is sponsoring a seminar tomorrow (Saturday, Feb. 27) with Ellen Blodgett, an Edgartown dog groomer, on the grooming and care of your dog. Nail clipping is free; donations will be gratefully received. The hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please be sure your dog is on a leash.

Shelter hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
