Mallory Butler recently returned from her frequent flyer trip to Aspen, Colo., to spend time with her granddaughter, Maeve, and parents, Jeffie Butler and Kevin Sheehan. She always has a great time with Maeve regardless of the weather.

Maxwell Butler and his musical group Vostok 4 recently performed at TT The Bears in Cambridge. He was surprised by the appearance of his parents, Lenny and Mallory Butler, who attended the performance without letting anyone know beforehand that they were going to be in Boston. His auntie, Virginia Yorke, also made a surprise visit to the performance while in the Boston area visiting with her granddaughter, Summer.

Nina Butler, daughter of Mallory and Lenny, is studying at St. Andrew’s in Edinburgh, Scotland for the spring semester from Wellesley College. She recently took a five-hour train ride to London for the weekend where she enjoyed the production of Phantom of the Opera. Nina is quite anxious to return home in a couple of months as she misses one and all.

Get well wishes to Barbara Ann Gibson, who has been hospitalized while in Florida and is scheduled to return to the Vineyard by this weekend.

John Gibson remains a patient, hospitalized in Florida following the accident he was in this past week. We will keep the Gibson family in our thoughts and prayers.

William and Joan Kistner returned to their home in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., on Sunday afternoon after spending four days at the new home of their daughter Theresa and her husband, Paul, and especially to visit with our grandson, Noah James Manning. We enjoyed family dinners together, checking off the to-do list, and family time while constantly watching the weather change from rain to sleet to snow and back with a few glimmers of sunshine on occasion. We shall look forward to their return in a few weeks.

Joan LeLacheur and her husband, Richard Skidmore, are enjoying a visit from her sister Pat Kelly, who has arrived from Vermont.

Welcome to Rocco David Marshall, who was born at the Martha’s Vineyard Hospital on Feb. 24. Rocco is the son of Nerissa Giles and Daniel Marshall, grandson of David and Alicia Giles of Aquinnah and Clara Marshall of Oak Bluffs and the late George Marshall.

Get well wishes to Walter Marshall, who was recently discharged from Beth Israel Hospital in Boston following cardiovascular surgery. He enjoyed an outing to visit his Aquinnah friends this past week.

Welcome to Mark Owen Shea, who was born on Jan. 20 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Mark is the son of Dr. Ryan Shea and his wife, Rachel Cottle Shea. He is the first grandchild of Mark and Susan (Lana) Shea of Edgartown and Aquinnah, and the grandson of Edmund Cottle Jr. and Deborah Pelow Cottle. Rocco is the great-grandson of Edmund Cottle Sr. and Betty Gale Cottle of Lambert’s Cove, and the late Albert and Jennie Lana of Aquinnah.

Happy birthday wishes to Alix DeSeife Small; she celebrates her special day while at work at Vineyard Knit Works on New Lane in West Tisbury as she sorts through another order of new yarns that have just arrived.
