Please Adopt Us

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard has been very busy this week with adoptions. I guess the nice weather has brought out all the animal lovers. But we still have a few really nice cats who have been waiting for their forever homes for quite awhile. Won’t you please stop by and give these great animals a hug? They all love to be held and petted. There is Cora, the really beautiful pure bred Persian with the gorgeous coat, Miss Misty the sweet FIV positive tabby who is very healthy and craves attention, Cyrus the big black fellow is still with us, and so is sweet little Pearl who only wants to curl up on a nice warm couch and be loved. The dogs are still P.J. the Staffordshire terrier also known as a pit bull, but please don’t let that term deter you from giving her a home, she is the sweetest dog and absolutely loves people. She just doesn’t care for other dogs, but that would never be a problem if the right person adopted her and knew of her issues with dogs .

The shelter is looking for a computer savvy recording secretary to take and and transcribe notes of the board meetings every other week from 4 to 6 p.m. The pay is $35. If interested, call Mary Jane Pease at 508-645-2260.

The shelter is holding a rabies clinic on April 3 from 10 a.m. to 12 at both the shelter in Edgartown and at the West Tisbury fire station. The clinic is for both cats and dogs. Cats should be brought in carriers and dogs must be on leashes. Cost is $15. If you have any questions please call Lisa at the shelter. Hours are Wednesday and Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Thursday and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
