Community Baptist Church of Gay Head will conduct their annual Easter sunrise service on Sunday morning at 6 a.m. with Rev. Roger H. Spinney officiating.

The Aquinnah Public Library is continuing the Saturday morning coffee and tea socials. Lots of great conversations and talk about the weather, which has been improving this week.

Chilmark Chocolates will be open through tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. when they will run out of Easter candy. They will then re-open on April 29.

The annual Easter egg hunt at the Duck Inn will take place on Sunday at 1 p.m. If you would like to assist in decorating the eggsceptional dozens of eggs, please stop by on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. to add your designs. Please be sure you find the golden egg on Sunday.

The second annual Wampanoag Environmental Health Consumer Expo will be held on Saturday, April 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. There will be exhibitors, speaker sessions, great giveaways and door prizes.

The annual Aquinnah Wampanoag Spring Social will be held on April 25 from noon to 4 p.m. at 20 Black Brook Road in Aquinnah. This is a potluck luncheon so please bring a dish to share. Dancing, drum and singing will be the highlight of the afternoon.

Bill and Joan Kistner returned to their home in New York on Sunday afternoon after spending most of the week with our grandson Noah James Manning and his parents, Paul and Theresa. We enjoyed a family dinner on Friday evening to observe yours truly’s day of birth with cupcakes by Jamie Sue Vanderhoop. Thank you one and all for your greetings of the day and for a day of shopping with Eleanor Hebert.

Dan Sauer and his wife, Wenonah Madison, their sons Waylon and Amos, and her mother, Angela Waldron, returned home a week ago after spending a week relaxing in sunny Puerto Rico.

Congratulations to John Walsh and his wife, Kelley Nagi, on the birth of their son, Nathanael Robert Walsh, on March 30 at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. Nathaneal will be welcomed home by his sister, Caroline, also known as CJ, and by his grandmother, Jennie Greene.

Gladys Widdiss is still a patient at Martha’s Vineyard Hospital. She is enjoying her spring bouquets of forsythia and daffodils from her up-Island friends.
