Well, June is busting out all over. It has been quite an eventful month as far as rain and thunderstorms. But as we all know, it helps get the flowers growing and makes the grass green.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Wyatt Belisle, who celebrated his day June 5; Ava Barnette and Rae Filley, June 7; Donald O’Shaughnessy Jr. on June 8; Marila Julia Lemos, Cailynn Patnaude partied on June 9; and Jullyo Lima, June and Jovanna Hernandez, Mario Hernandez and Sarah Strem, who all celebrate their day today, June 11.

I hope you all weathered the thunderstorm we experienced last Saturday. We were just getting off the boat in Woods Hole when the first clap of lightning hit. Anyone who knows me knows I hate lightning and I have to admit there were a few more indentations on my steering wheel by the end of the storm. Woods Hole Road was like a whitewater river ride and by the time we got to Falmouth there were huge puddles in front of Dunkin’ Donuts and the Falmouth Inn. In fact there was one car stuck in the middle of the puddle and the water was above their tires. It was quite an experience and one we won’t soon forget.

Congratulations to Capt. James Hagerty USMC, who just became engaged to Allessandra Boniface. There are no dates set yet but we wish them both much happiness and a long and happy life together.

Meredith Curtis graduated on May 30 from Brown University in Providence, R.I. with her bachelor’s of arts degree in economics. She is the daughter of Celeste and Norman Stickney. Meredith will be moving to Madison, Wisc. this week where she will be employed by Epic Systems in medical software.

We had a pleasant surprise the other night when Carol Ellis and her friend Evelyn Cushman stopped by the house. Carol was here to visit her uncle and aunt, Duncan and Margaret McBride. Unfortunately, Duncan, who has been very ill passed away while she was here.

Carol and Evelyn were staying with Jeannie and Jamie Craves and were walking by the house and stopped by. They both live in Maine and Carol says that her husband Lenny is doing okay and they still love it up there.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
