Sandra Grymes has joined the governing board of the Permanent Endowment for Martha’s Vineyard.

She has worked in senior management positions with national nonprofit organizations including the Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the American Red Cross in greater New York. She has served as senior deputy commissioner of the New York City Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Alcoholism Services and has taught graduate students as an adjunct professor.

A graduate of Temple University, Ms. Grymes has a master’s degree in social work from Bryn Mawr College as well as an M.B.A. from Baruch College.

She is a resident of Oak Bluffs and New York city. She also serves on the boards of the Studio Museum in Harlem, the Marian Anderson Award, the University of Pennsylvania Library in Philadelphia and Martha’s Vineyard Community Services.
