Please Adopt Us

We have one very special new animal at the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard who is looking for a home; his name is Riley and he is a red and white King Charles spaniel. He is seven years old and is neutered and up to date on all his shots; for those who don’t know the King Charles breed, they are very handsome and make a perfect house dog. Please stop by and see him — we are sure he will not be at the shelter very long.

Cats available for adoption are Cyrus, our house mascot; Binx with the white whiskers; Phoebe, the orange and white cat; Walter, another all-black cat with some white markings; Olive, the tortoiseshell with a bobbed tail; her pal Angel, who is part Siamese with beautiful blue eyes; Dolly, also a black cat who loves people; two black kittens who are slowly becoming more social; and Miss Misty, the sweet little tiger cat. And finally, we have Louise the guinea pig, who comes with her own cage and is looking for just the right child to hug.

Please stop by the shelter for a visit; the hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.

We are always in need of cleaning supplies, including laundry soap (Tide, please), dishwashing liquid and Arm and Hammer litter deodorant. We are also looking for volunteers during the busy summer months. Stay cool and think of all the animals at the shelter who need to stay cool too; contributions for an air conditioner are gratefully accepted.
