Please Adopt Us

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is quickly becoming a hub for unwanted, stray and homeless cats. Won’t you please stop by to see them?

Adult cats available for adoption are: Cleo, an older cat who loves to curl up in your lap; Binx, who is all black with beautiful long white whiskers; Phoebe, an orange and white cat; Cyrus, the shelter mascot; Miss Misty, also a long-term shelter mascot; Gracie. a beautiful friendly long-haired gray; Ananda, a yellow tiger; Olive, a tortoiseshell with a bobbed tail; and Dolly, another all-black cat. The two new cats are Tinkerbelle, a big tiger and white with a sweet round face who is about four years old, and Banjo, an old fellow who was brought in as a stray and would make a wonderful pet for an older person. We also have a beautiful pale yellow tiger male — very young, about a year old — who was found wandering on the West Tisbury Road near the golf club at night and brought to the shelter. So far no one has claimed him, so he will be neutered and put up for adoption.

Now for the kitten department. We have five absolutely adorable kittens in the kitten room — three gray (one female and two males) and two black kittens (one male and one female), about six to eight weeks old. We have all had such fun watching them play and interact with each other. It will be hard to chose one; they are all so cute.

We have two exceptional dogs: Katama, a fawn Boxer cross and Ozzie, a four-year-old Mini-Pin cross. They love people.

Shelter hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
