Please Adopt Us

After four days of unrelenting downpours and dampness, happily all our animals are safe, warm and dry albeit wishing for new homes. Won’t you please stop by the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard and fall in love with our beautiful animals and perhaps take one or two home with you?

Is anyone from the Vineyard Haven area missing a really gorgeous brown and white lop-eared bunny? Her name is Honey Bun and she was a stray brought to us by a good Samaritan who rescued her. She has a great cage for either indoors or outdoors and is very cuddly and friendly.

Our cats remain basically the same with a couple of new additions. Captain is a beautiful bob-tailed silver and black stray from West Tisbury; Bebe is a handsome female short-haired calico; Digger is a tiger tabby, a big male about three years old, who is not crazy about other cats but loves people; Binx is a black male with long white whiskers; Phoebe is a ginger and white female who gets along well with other cats and should be an indoor cat; Dolly is a handsome tuxedo cat who loves to sit in the window and watch the birds but has never been outdoors; and Gracie is a beautiful long-haired gray female who is sweet and affectionate and loves to be brushed. All the cats at the shelter are spayed or neutered and up to date on their shots. And they really need to find homes. We have one new kitten — Genie is 11 weeks old, all black and very lonesome.

Our one dog is Katama, a boxer cross who is very friendly and loves to be taken for walks. Volunteer walkers are welcome. The shelter phone number is 508-627-8662.
