Island favorite Ben Taylor and John Forte, producer/performer for the Fugees, headline a benefit concert tonight, Sept. 3, from 9 p.m. at Nectar’s with proceeds going to Martha’s Vineyard Helping Homeless Animals (MVHHA) and RockHouse Foundation of Negril, Jamaica.

MVHHA is a cage-free, nonprofit, no-kill organization that is dedicated to rescuing homeless animals and providing for their medical, physical and emotional needs, all while securing a loving, caring and permanent home. The group provides this labor of love for animals from the Island, Tennessee, Georgia and St. Croix.

And RockHouse Foundation, of Jamaica, is committed to rebuilding schools for children of all ages. Their mission is supported locally and with great determination by the Island cultural staple that is Nectar’s.

Tickets are $40 at the door; VIP tables available. There will be a silent auction, and celebrity guest appearances.
